Description
When I was maybe three or four, I triumphantly announced to my grandmother that I'd learned how to fly. Actually, I'd just discovered jumping. I would just jump as high as I could and wave my arms up and down. It wasn't nearly the same as flying, which I kind of knew already. But I thought that if I could fool someone else into thinking I was flying, then maybe it would actually come true. Maybe I really would be flying, in a way. Whatever my reasoning, being in the air was fun while it lasted.
Back to watercolors. This is my first time trying out hot pressed paper for watercolor, and I really like it. It feels crisper while still retaining a nice watery look. I might use it more often. Part three in the rainy-city-with-children-and-animals series (wow, I need a title for that!).
About 5hrs work. Watercolor on hot pressed watercolor paper.

Great technique! This picture is gorgeous! So much that I wanted to return to my childhood. The atmosphere of this work is full of enthusiasm, but at the same time fills me with bright sadness. I remembered my parrot, and I really miss it, I would like to fly with it too Bravo!
